A Study of Tourist Expenditure in Goa


Much of the discussion about tourism in India, presumes that it is a suitable form of economic development due to its multiplier effects. This paper explores the theoretical models of measuring multiplier effects in relation to tourism. Secondly it discusses a study on tourist expenditures conducted in Goa as an initial step toward analysing the multipliers in state tourism and developing a model which can be applied elsewhere in the country.
