Subodh Kant Sahay is the new Union Minister for Tourism

New Delhi: Vayalar Ravi to take over as Civil Aviation Minister.
The first reshuffle of the Union Cabinet by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has witnessed a change of guard in both travel and tourism and aviation. Among the major changes, Kumari Selja has been divested of the Tourism portfolio and Subodh Kant Sahay has been appointed as the new Union Minister for Tourism. Sahay was Minister for Food Processing Industries. Selja has retained Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation portfolio and has been given additional charge of Culture.
Vayalar Ravi has been bestowed with the Civil Aviation Ministry in addition to his current charge of Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs. Praful Patel, the current Minister of State for Civil Aviation has been made a Cabinet Minister and given charge of the Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises portfolio. In another notable change, senior Cabinet Minister, Kamal Nath has been shifted from Ministry of Roads and Highways to Ministry of Urban Development.
