An Overview on Tourism Trends and Policy Perspectives in North East IndiaIn August 2010, Impulse, Shillong in collaboration with EQUATIONS, Bengaluru and Sikkim University, Gangtok organized a “Regional Consultation on Responsible Tourism in the North Eastern States of India”. This was aimed at initiating a process of dialogue and perspectives on Responsible Tourism for the North Eastern Region to influence tourism policy and practice in the region.

This presentation explored the dimensions of sustainability and responsibility in tourism, understanding tourism within the context of Northeast region development, tourism trends in the Northeast region and a look at the Vision 2020 and State tourism policies.
