Minister Mega Plan Prepared For Dantewada Tourism Development


During the last financial year 2012-13, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board had sanctioned Rs2.80 crore for different tourism development projects to the tribal dominated South Bastar (Dantewada) district, which has plenty of natural, archaeological and religious important heritage places.

Raipur: Tourism Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said here on Saturday that a work plan has been prepared under the Mega Circuit Central Project for providing basic facilities to the tourists at Saathdhara (Barsoor) in Dantewada district. According to the work plan construction of entrance gate, construction of steps, fencing, land leveling, construction of pagoda, beautification of park, sapling plantation, solar street light in the park and construction of pathway in the park would be made in Saathdhara with a sanctioned amount of Rs50 lakh. All the development work was being done in a proper way, as per the work plan, the Minister added.

Agrawal said, along with the development of a garden, the beautification of the lake near the historic Danteshwari temple has also been started. For the two work Rs51.37 lakh has been sanctioned. For the approach road to Danteshwari temple administrative sanction for Rs73.79 lakh has been accorded, the Minister added.

Agrawal said that under the Mega Circuit Central Project, a Sulabh Sauchalaya (public lavatory) has to be constructed with a cost of Rs16 lakh at Saathdhara. Besides, a CC road in Barsoor and boundary walls around various monuments would also be constructed with a cost of Rs33.05 lakh.

For the construction of pagoda at Barsoor Chingitarai Rs4 lakh has been sanctioned. Moreover, in the highway motel constructed in Dantewada district landscaping worth Rs51 lakh is being made, the Minister added.
