MTDC Opens Water Park At Karla

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) recently opened its water park at Karla. The Rs 3 crore 66 lakh development features 54 float slides, 27 crazy slides, 23 multi-lane slides, 30 mini aqua trails, 144 family slides, a multi-purpose water play system, a water fall, a wave pool, a water umbrella, and more. The park was inaugurated by Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister – Tourism, Government of Maharashtra.

While delivering his inaugural speech, Bhujbhal said, “Lonavala and Khandala are popular tourist spots. There are various private resorts that provide water sport facilities which are quite expensive for common tourists. MTDC’s Karla Water Park is very economic and everyone can afford the facility.” He added that the water used is taken from the nearby river and it will be recycled regularly.

Sanjay Bhegde, MLA of Maval; Vaishali Gaikwad, Sarpanch of Karla; Jagdish Patil, MD, MTDC; Dilip Shinde, Jt. MD. MTDC, and Kishori Gadare, GM, MTDC, were also present on the occasion.
