The Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Tamil Nadu has formed Tourism Security Organisation (TSO) at five important tourist destinations, in order to provide security to visitors and ensure that Tamil Nadu is a safe destination for visitors, including foreigners. According to a report in The Hindu, the TSO have been formed in Mamallapuram, Kodaikanal, Udhagamandalam, Rameswaram and Kanyakumari.

Giving English lessons to boys from poor families, he was a familiar face for the locals. But that was to change two years ago, when a complaint from two children compelled the Kerala Police to register a case of child abuse against Spalti, leading to hls arrest and the confiscation of his passport. Spalti then jumped bail and has since disappeared, though many in Kovalam say he has been visiting the beach.



GTO to negotiate room rates with guest house owners in Delhi

The Environment Ministry has minced no words saying that uncontrolled flow of tourists in the tiger reserves is one of the biggest threats to the population of the large cats today. Maharashtra Pollution Board Control (MPBC) has decided that it will be mandatory for hotels, clubs and resorts to install sewage plants within their premises to help recycle 80 per cent of sewage water for non-potable use. The decision was taken as 50 per cent of the non-potable sewage water was flushed into the sea, affecting marine life. A senior official from the MPBC said that the decision was taken last month, which will not only help to save the environment, but conserve water too.
